Her Alibi (1989)

Plot: A writer of BAD detective novels is in full writers’ block. He pretends to be the alibi of a beautiful woman who was arrested for murder at first thinking her innocent, but as she shows more and more interesting abilities (such as knife throwing) he begins to doubt his first assessment. He is still falling for her, but more and more nervous as time passes, and there are more close calls with death on his part.

How to stop a network of bullies?
So I was talking t a friend of mine the other day about the war in Afghanistan and terrorism and he made the comparison of Islamic terrorists to a network of high school bullies that always pick on ginger kids.
She said that the problem with terrorism comes down to something like this:
Pretend you’re a red-haired 10th grader. At the end of every school day, you’re jumped on the way to the bus station and severely beaten - each time by a different bully. sometimes, you fall victim to practical jokes which either result in injury or embarrassment. The bullies know each other (or at least know OF each other), but you can’t tell a bully from a nice kid because they dress like everybody else. They come in all shapes and sizes and from all walks of life. The only difference is that this network of bullies hates kids with red hair. They have no formal uniform or insignia, but they hold the same opinion.
So what would you do first? Try and fight back. Lets say you manage to kick a bully in the groin. The next day five of them stop you on your way home and leave you with a broken arm and a black eye.
Since trying to take on one of them always results in five others attacking you, you turn to your parents. Your parents call the parents of the bullies who picked on you, but each parent claims their child’s innocence. This goes on and on, and in the meantime, you still keep getting your a$$ kicked for being a rat.
So you turn to the principle. The principle asks you for names, you give him a list. The principle summons 50 kids, including you, to his office, shuts the door and starts questioning everybody. They all claim innocence, they offer each other alibis and they pin you as a paranoid delusional. The principle sees your wounds and knows something is wrong, but he can’t just expel 50 kids like that. He tries to set an example by expelling 5, but their parents are so furious they end up indirectly forcing the principle to reconsider and within a week, they’re back in school.
And you still get whooped every day, only this time they are more discreet and cunning.
You have four options left.
One, abandon your humanity and pull a Columbine. Show up armed and take them all out. You KNOW this is not an option under any circumstance and you immediately brush it off.
Two, you try to confront them bravely. You win the occasional battle, but lose the war. The beatings keep getting harsher and harsher, you end up hospitalized and eventually fall into a coma from severe brain trauma caused by a few good kicks to the head.
Three, you try to offer them a truce. Your lunch money, your new iPod. But they just snicker and the beatings continue. You dye your hair, they just laugh and shave your head. You beg them to let you join their side, they tell you that hell will freeze over before a ginger kid gets accepted into their gang.
Four, you do nothing. The beatings continue until eventually, you die.
In other words, because terrorists blend in with civilians, because of their absolute lack of accountability, because they lie through their teeth without an ounce of shame, because of their faith and beliefs — they are invincible. They look out for each other. They support each others lies. They grow more cunning, discreet and malicious every time you dare to defend yourself. And since you can’t change the color of your hair - they will never stop.
How would YOU stop the bullying?
Bait. Find a weak looking red haired kid. Have him walk "alone" with snipers hidden nearby. When he gets beat up, kill the bullies.
Likewise, with terrorists. Sent a few decoy US soldiers (realistic looking robots maybe) strolling around Afghanistan. Monitor it from a distance. When the decoys get attacked, kill the bad guys.
