Could someone hack my computer to send anonymous emails?
For the past few months now my friend’s girlfriend started receiving emails from an anonymous email. The first email came before my friend and his girlfriend got back together. The first emails said things like "Tell your friend to keep away from my girl" After a week or so my friend and his girlfriend got back together. Since then there have been numerous emails that have been sent to her. In most of the emails were things that only me and my friend talked about through instant messenger. My friend knows someone who works at the FBI and had them trace it. Well 2 weeks ago I was told by my friend that the comcast ISP record came back to my street. I was in complete shock and surprise. Some emails were sent when I was in Jamaica 2 weeks ago and I was told by my friend that those e-mails were routed through several anonymous servers to mask the origin, making me look like I did it. The new emails also said something like "he told me he likes me" instead of in the original emails that made it sound like a male was writing it. Also, something that was said in the recent email was only told to me and his girlfriend. My friends don’t believe me and I have cried myself to sleep at least half of the nights since this happened. I am know where near computer savvy enough or cruel enough to do something like this. My wireless internet is security enabled, but could someone still hack my computer? This is all really upsetting. I did not even know the girlfriend’s name until about a month after the emails started, and the emails were sent to her school account. Please help if you can. I’m sure I sound like a whiny little girl, but I feel like my life is in shambles. I have lost my best friend for something I swear I did not do. She has said that is going to press charges and I’m praying that she doesn’t. I have AVAST anti-virus, and I constantly run CC cleaner. All answers/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I changed my facebook password and the email address. There would be no way for whoever did this to get information from emails because there wasn’t any there. We talked on AOL Instant Messenger.
